“Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac on Monday evening visited the wake of Malia Kates Yuchen G. Masongsong, the 4-year old daughter of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who tragically passed away in a vehicle accident at the departure area of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Pasay City on 04 May 2025.

“Malia was the only child of Danmark Soriano Masongsong, an OFW employed as an assembly line operator in the Czech Republic. He was scheduled to depart yesterday to resume his work abroad when the tragedy occurred.

“The Secretary conveyed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s message of care and support, reassuring the family of all the necessary assistance and other forms of support they need.

“Before visiting the wake, Secretary Cacdac met with nanay Edith, Danmark’s mother, and his wife Cynthia at the hospital to offer prayers of healing and fast recovery as both of them were also injured during the accident.

“Both nanay Edith and Cynthia expressed their appreciation for the Secretary’s visit, prayers, and message of support during this difficult time.

“The DMW through its Migrant Workers Office in Prague, meanwhile, assisted OFW Danmark in relaying the circumstance behind his absence from work to his current overseas employer,” ang buong pahayag ng DMW.
