CBCP nagpaalala sa publiko, viral na pari binigyan ng 'benefit of the doubt'

NAGSALITA na ang Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines o CBCP tungkol sa nag-viral na pari na nagpapaalis sa tindera ng palaspas.

Matatandaang mainit na pinag-uusapan ngayon sa social media ang isang pari mula sa St. Francis of Assisi Cainta, Rizal na sumigaw sa tindera ng palaspas st sinabihan itong huwag magtinda sa loob mg bakuran ng simbahan.

Ayon kay CBCP Commission on Public Affairs Executive Secretary Jerome Secillano noong Lunes, April 14, binibigyan niya ng “benefit of the doubt” ang pari na sangkot sa naturang video.

“It would be unfair to judge someone based solely on a short clip, especially one that lacks context,” saad niya sa naging panayam sa DZBB 594.

“It’s possible that it escalated to that point because the priest had repeatedly asked nicely. Some people can really be stubborn. How long should you be expected to stay calm?” pagpapatuloy pa ng CBCP executive secretary.

Nang usisain kung may magaganap bang imbestigasyon, sinabi niyang wala na dahil isa lang naman itong “minor incident” na lumaki dahil sa pag-viral ng video.

“What’s clear here is that the priests know how to conduct themselves. It’s not like they would just storm in and confront people right away,” dagdag pa nito.

Bago ang pahayag ng CNCP ay nauna nang maglabas ng statement ang parokya ng St. Francis if Assisi Parish.

“While we do not condone any act of anger from any party, especially within the grounds of our church, we also ask the faithful to view the matter with understanding and fairness, considering the full context,” parte ng kanilang pahayag.
