Mataas na opisyal ng militar kinasuhan ng rape ng 2 junior officer

KINASUHAN ng rape ang isang high-ranking military official matapos ireklamo ng dalawang junior officer na nagsisilbing office assistant.
Base sa report ng INQUIRER.net, nangyari ang umano’y pangmomolestiya ng opisyal ng militar sa mga biktima noong January 29, 2025.
Isinampa sa prosecutor’s office ang “joint criminal complaint for rape through sexual assault and attempted rape through sexual assault” laban sa suspek.
Ito’y matapos nga ang isinagawang imbestigasyon ng pamunuan ng militar at makakita ng “prima facie evidence that the official exhibited conduct unbecoming of an officer and conduct prejudicial to good order and military discipline.”
Base sa ulat, naganap umano ang sexual assault matapos dumalo ang kinasuhang opisyal kasama ang dalawang biktima noong January 29, 2025 na inabot daw hanggang madaling-araw kinabukasan.
Nakasaad pa sa salaysay ng mga biktima na dumiretso sila sa bahay ng suspek kung saan nangyari umano ang sinasabing pangmomolestiya.
Noong January 30, 2025 naman nag-file ng complaint ang junior officer sa pamunuan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
“The totality of Respondent’s actions violates moral, ethical, and professional standards of military officers.
“His conduct demonstrates a lack of respect for others and an abuse of authority, bringing dishonor to the military profession,” ang nakasaad sa isang military report na may petsang February 26, 2025.
Kasunod ng paglabas ng naturang report ang pagpa-file ng charge sheet sa Office of the Judge Advocate General ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (OJAG).
Habang inaalam pa OJAG kung may sapat na ebidensiya para magsagawa ng general court-martial laban sa suspek, nagsampa na nga ng reklamo ang mga biktima sa Prosecutor’s Office.
Sabi pa sa report ng INQUIRER.net, “Under Republic Act 516, a general court-martial has the power to try any person subject to military law for any crime or offense considered a felony in a civilian court.”
Sa kasalukuyan ay nasa restricted custody na ang opisyal at na-relieve na rin sa kanyang posisyon.
